Prayers of the Church

Morning Offering

O Jesus, through the most Pure Heart of Mary, I offer you all my prayers, works, sufferings and joys of this day for all the intentions of your divine Heart in the Holy Mass, Amen.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Eternal rest

Eternal rest, grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

Act of Contrition

O my God, because you are so good, I am very sorry that I have sinned against you and by the help of your grace, I will not sin again. Amen.

Prayer to the Holy Spirit

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created and you shall renew the face of the earth. Amen.

Salve Regina

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,  Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.  To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears! Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us,  and after this, our exile,  show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  O clement, O loving,  O sweet Virgin Mary.

Prayer to St. Michael

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defence against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,

by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits

who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls. Amen.

Guardian Angel Prayer

Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom God’s love commits me here, ever this day be at my side,  to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Prayer of St Teresa of Avila

Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All things pass away: God never changes. Patience obtains all things. Those who have God Find they lack nothing; God alone suffices.

For someone who has died

Father, to you the dead do not die and, in death, our life is changed not ended. We believe that all that binds us together in love and friendship does not end with death. Hear our prayers for those who have died. Hold them in your love in your Kingdom of light, happiness and peace. We ask this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
